England beat West Indies on Lara's international exit

Things didn’t go according to plan for Brian Charles Lara in his last international match. First and foremost, West Indies lost the thrilling match against England by just 1 wicket despite posting a huge total of 300. If that was not enough, he was tragically run out for 18 when he was batting.

Earlier, England decided to field first after winning a toss. Out of form Chris Gayle hammered England bowling all over the Kensington Oval. He was so brutal through out his winning that he made 50 in just 26 balls. Devon smith supported Gayle well and they recorded century partnership in good time. Likes of Marlon Samuels and Shivnaraine Chanderpaul also played well.

In reply, England lost the early wicket of Andrew Strauss but the partnership between captain Michael Vaughan and world number 1 player in one-day cricket (according to ICC ranking) Kevin Pieterson did the trick for England. Pieterson scored run a ball century as England coast home after some stutter in the middle.
